Doctrines of Mount Zion Gospel Ministries
We believe the Bible, the Holy Scriptures, to be the inspired Word of God, the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and practice, and the true basis of Christian union and fellowship.
The Triune Godhead
We believe in the triune Godhead in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Who is Spirit, infinite and eternal and unchangeable in all His attributes.
Jesus Christ: His Deity, virgin birth, sinless exaltation at God’s right hand, and personal return.
The Holy Spirit
Who is a Divine Person, equal with the Father and the Son and of the same nature.
We believe in the personality of Satan, who is called the devil.
We believe man was created by God, that through disobedience he became dead in trespasses and sins. He is entirely dependent on the mercy of God and is unable to earn his own salvation.
We believe that Salvation is through the Sovereign Grace of God alone and that it is appropriated by faith in the atoning sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ Who died on the cross for our sin and rose again to eternal life. We believe that we are justified by faith alone, and that repentance is wrought in our soul by the regenerating Spirit of God (Holy Spirit).
We believe that every believer is sanctified upon acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
Lordship of Christ
We believe in the Lordship of Christ in the life of the believer and the Church.
Regenerated Church Members
We believe that regeneration (the New Birth) is a change of heart wrought by the Holy Spirit, whereby we become partakers of the divine nature and a holy disposition is given, leading to the love and practice of righteousness. It is the work of God’s free grace conditional upon faith in Christ and made manifest by the fruit which we bring to the glory of God.
Priesthood of All Believers
We believe in the priesthood of all believers – that the only mediator between God and man is Jesus Christ.
We believe in the Baptism of Believers only, by immersion, in obedience to the Command of Christ.
We believe in the Baptism with the Holy Spirit as an experience subsequent to salvation, with the initial scriptural evidence; namely, speaking in tongues as the Holy Spirit gives utterance.
Gifts of the Holy Spirit
We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit as enumerated in 1 Corinthians, being exercised and practiced as made manifest in the early church.
We believe in the Lord’s Supper, commemorative of His death, as the privilege of all believers.
We believe that God is the source of all blessings, temporal and spiritual. All that we have and are we owe to Him. We have a spiritual debtorship to the whole world, a holy trusteeship in the Gospel, and a binding stewardship in our possessions. We are therefore under obligation to serve Him with our time, talents and material possessions, and should recognize all these as entrusted to us to use for the glory of God and helping others.
The Church’s Task
We believe in the evangelistic, missionary, social and educational task as primary in the life and program of the Church, in accordance with the great commission of Christ.
We believe in the personal, bodily and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ, in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, and the eternal reward of the righteous and the retribution of the wicked.
Freedom of Conscience
We believe in the right of freedom of conscience and the liberty of worship for all people.
Separation of Church and State
We believe in the separation of Church and State.
We believe in the Theocratic government of the Church under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, working through the Pastors, Elders and Deacons.
Relations with Other Churches
We believe in the Church associated with other churches and their dependent conventions and associations for fellowship, counsel, mutual assistance, and the furtherance of Christ’s Word.
The Church shall be in affiliation with all Christian Churches that teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord.
